Web Design Process

Send me an email with a brief description of your idea and business goals. From there, we can book a free consult call to discuss the project in further detail.
Once the project is confirm, I will email a contract for you to sign. A 50%, non-refundable deposit is required at the beginning of the project prior to starting the design. Description text goes here

In this phase, we will talk about the content you would like to be present on your website. You are responsible for providing this content including copy, photo and video assets, logos and business collateral. Additionally, if you are adding an e-commerce section to your website, you will need to provide the product images, pricing and information to be added to your online storefront.
Once I’ve organized and established the content, I will develop an initial wire-frame outlining the design of the website. This will be sent to you to review and to provide your feedback.

Using your brand guidelines (if you do not have these, we can discuss a brand identity design package add-on), I will design your homepage, about page, contact page and one additional page of content. I will send these four pages to you to review. Once the design is approved, I will move on to designing all remaining pages. Another round of revisions will be sent after the final page is designed.

Once all design elements have been approved - your website will be ready to launch!
We will set up a virtual call where I will share my screen and walk you through your new website. The goal is for you to feel confident navigating your website and managing it independently.

Payment
All payments can be made through E-transfer or online by credit card. You will receive an email outlining the payment schedule after the contract is signed. A 50%, non-refundable deposit is required on all projects prior to secure your project. The final 50% will be required at the end of the design.
What platform do you build on?
This depends on the needs of your website! For a small business and single page I might use WordPress or Squarespace. For a larger corporate website, I use WordPress with the Elementor Plugin.
There are many platforms to choose from and it will all depend on your personal needs. I love the functions of Squarespace for functionality and marketing, such as connecting to Google Workspace and MailChimp for email campaigns and marketing. We will discuss the options in our intro call to find out which platform would best suit your business needs.
Hosting + Domains + SSL certificates
You will be responsible for purchasing your own hosting, domain and SSL certificate. An SSL certificate is essential for safeguarding sensitive and enhances the trust and credibility by signalling a secure connection (with the small lock icon in the URL).
You can purchase a domain name and SSL certificate from a variety of domain hosting sites.
I typically recommend NameCheap or GoDaddy.
What if I need updates in the future?
I’d be happy to help provide updates on your website. Any updates will be subject to an hourly rate charge of $65/hour.
I already have a website but just need updates, can you help?
Absolutely! Send me an email and we can discuss the scope of the project. I will provide a quote for you once we’ve established your needs.
Content
You will be responsible for providing me with all of the content for your website, including images, copy, and videos. Please ensure that all copy you provide has been spell-checked and proofread.
Monthly or Annual Website Costs
You will be responsible for paying any associated costs with maintaining your website. This includes paying either the monthly or annual subscription fee for whichever design service is used.
If there are specific Plug-ins used on WordPress sites with associated fees, you will be responsible for covering those.
We will discuss all associated costs prior to publishing the website.
